Bundeswappen
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
(Redirected from Bundesadler)
The German term "Bundesadler" (Federal Eagle) refers to the heraldic animals
- of the Coat of Arms of Germany
- of the Coat of Arms of Austria
Both coats of arms are called "Bundeswappen" (Federal Coat of Arms)
A native speaker of the German language rarely takes this ambiguousness into account. When talking of "the Bundeswappen" or "the Bundesadler", an Austrian refers to the Austrian emblems while a German - as most other people - refers to the German symbols.
