- In the United Kingdom, designation as a historic monument is referred to as Listed building status, and in France as a monument historique.
In Spain, the legal declaration known as Conjunto Histórico-Artístico (Historic-Artistic Grouping) is made up of all the buildings and properties declared to be Monumentos Históricos-Artísticos. It aims to protect Spain's cultural heritage and is regulated by the country's Ministry of Culture.
