Rifleman Daniel Hagman is a fictional character from Bernard Cornwell's Sharpe series of novels. A former poacher, he is the best shot in the company. He is also the oldest Rifleman. He survives the entirety of the Peninsular War but is killed at Waterloo in 1815.
He is played by John Tams in the Sharpe TV series. Here he is one of Sharpe's "Chosen Men", which in reality meant corporal but is used in the series as a catch-all for the Riflemen. He was eventually promoted to sergeant after being a civilian for a short while in Yorkshire, in an original story not based on the novels (Sharpe's Justice).
