(Redirected from For Pete's Sake (song))
"For Pete's Sake" is a song written by Peter Tork and Joseph Richards, and recorded by The Monkees, with Micky Dolenz on lead vocals. It appeared on The Monkees' third album, Headquarters, and was used as the closing theme for the second season of their TV series.
Cover versions were recorded by R. Stevie Moore and by the band Donny Who Loved Bowling.[1]
Co-writer Peter Tork later said of the song "It was basically me playing these chords at my house, and my then-roommate, Joey Richards, was with me, and he threw in a couple of odds and ends of lines as I was going along. It just fell right into place", adding that "[it was] my first song on a Monkees' record and the first song that I had written".[citation needed]
