Guillem Bauzà (born 25 October, 1984 in Palma de Mallorca) is a professional footballer, currently playing as a centre forward in the Football League Championship for Welsh side Swansea City. He signed for the Swans in the summer of 2007 from Spanish side Espanyol, where he played all his games for their ‘B’ team who play in the Spanish second division. Before joining Espanyol he had been at his hometown club Mallorca. In his only game for Mallorca FC he partnered Samuel Eto'o in attack.

Bauza, more commonly known by his nickname Bussy, won the Under 16’s European Championships with Spain, playing all 6 games alongside current Liverpool striker Fernando Torres. He also represented Spain at Under 17 and Under 20 levels, again playing alongside Torres.

His first Swansea goals were against Dutch team Alphense Boys during the club's pre-season tour of the Netherlands, when he scored twice in a 5–2 victory. His first competitive goal came against Wycombe Wanderers in the Football League Trophy. Bussy scored his first League goal for The Swans in the 3–1 win at Kenilworth Road against Luton Town.

Bauza wrote his name in the Swansea City history books on 12 April 2008, when he scored a brace of goals against Gillingham to secure The Swans promotion to the Football League Championship.

On the 26 April 2008, Bussy scored his first hat-trick for The Swans as they beat Leyton Orient in the final game of the season. All 3 of his goals came in the first half as The Swans won the match 4–1.

[edit] Trivia

  • Bussy and two of his fellow Spanish team-mates at Swansea - Angel Rangel and Andrea Orlandi were known as the 'Three Amigos' in their first season at the club. This is because the current Swansea City manager Roberto Martínez was part of the original 'Thee Amigos' when he played for Wigan Athletic. However, due to further Spanish players joining the club, few supporters still call them this.
  • Outside of football Bussy is a qualified teacher who could speak almost fluent English before he arrived in Wales. Bussy is also currently studying for a genetics degree in Swansea University, with the view to perhaps becoming a doctor after his playing days are over.
