Joseph Akpala (born August 24, 1986 in Jos, Northern Nigeria) is a Nigerian footballer, who plays for Club Brugge.

Akpala is a product of the Pepsi Football Academy in Lagos. His first Professional contract was with Bendel United Football Club - a Division One club in Benin City in April 2003.
He later joined Bendel Insurance FC, Benin City in the premier Division of the Nigerian Professional League, in February 2005. He was to finish as joint top scorer with 13 goals in 19 games.
He was signed by the Royal Charleroi Sporting Club in the Belgian Jupiler League in January 2006. He wears the no 27 jersey.
Joseph had a very successful campaign in the 2007/08 Belgian League campaign. He topped the scorers chart with 18 goals.
In the first transfer window of the Jupiler League Akpala joined Club Brugge on the 18th July signing a contract until 2013.
So far this season Akpala has played 23 games and has scored 9 times

He made his debut for Nigeria on September 6, 2008 against South Africa. He scored his first goal for Nigeria in a game against France in which Nigeria won 0-1 in Saint Ettiene.
