Juan José Expósito Ruiz, aka Juanjo (born October 28, 1985 in Santander, Cantabria), is a Spanish footballer who currently plays for Racing de Santander, as a forward.
[edit] Football career
After making his professional debuts with hometown Real Racing Club de Santander during 2004-05, Juanjo was relatively used, mainly as a substitute, during the course of the following two seasons.
In 2007-08 he was loaned, spending the season at Sevilla FC's B team, scoring seven league goals to help the side maintain second level status. However, due to injuries and international duty, he also appeared in one first division match, on January 12, 2008, playing 30 minutes as Sevilla lost 0-2 at Athletic de Bilbao.
In July 2008, Juanjo returned to Santander and, on August 31, in 2008-09's opener, scored as a late substitute in a 1-1 home draw against former side Sevilla. However, after the arrival, on loan, of Serbian Nikola Žigić, during the 2009 winter transfer window, he was deemed surplus to requirements, moving, also on loan, to Deportivo Alavés, until the end of the season. Another forward, Toni del Moral, was bought from the Basque side.
After not being able to help Alavés retain its league status, Juanjo returned to his alma mater.
