Leroy Merlin is a French worldwide home-improvement and gardening retailer.
Generally established on the outskirts of major town and cities, Leroy Merlin stores are large centers (9000 m2 en average) providing self-service and sales assisted services. Its business is centered around 5 main sectors (DIY, building, gardening, sanitary equipment, renewable energy and interior decoration)[1].

In 1923, Adolphe Leroy and Rose Merlin, associates in private and business life, open a business of American surplus. Strengthened by this 1st success, they decide to sell DIY products and supplies at moderate prices. In 1960, the firm is named Leroy Merlin. It becomes a precursor, as it is the first company to create a free delivery service [2].

Spanish electricity utility Endesa has installed a 100kWh solar plant, covering 1,700 square meters with 670 photovoltaic panels, for Leroy Merlin at its superstore in Rivas Vaciamadrid, Spain.
