[edit] Football career
A right or central defender, Cuartero made his senior debut with hometown squad Real Zaragoza on June 20, 1993, in a 2–2 away draw with Atlético de Madrid, aged 17, and played there ever since. He went on to appear in 178 first division games (plus the 2002–03 season in the second level).
From 2006–09, Cuartero would only appear in three league matches, severely hindered by knee injuries.[1]Never more than a utility player, his best league output came in 2003–04, when he appeared in 24 matches for a final 12th place. He finally retired from the game at the end of 2008–09, with the Aragonese in the second division.[2]
