Luke Barrie Prosser (born 28 May 1988) is an English footballer who plays for Port Vale as a defender.

[edit] Playing career
Prosser was signed by Port Vale from the Tottenham Hotspur youth system. He was offered a new six-month contract by Vale in May 2007,[2] and then promptly another six months to take his contract until the end of the 2007–08 season. He was in York City's squad for a 2–1 pre-season victory against Chesterfield in August 2007.[3] He was loaned out to Conference North side Leigh RMI on 25 January 2008 to gain first team experience,[4] where he made seven appearances.[5] After returning from this loan spell, he made his debut for Vale in a 3–2 victory over Brighton & Hove Albion.[6] He finished the 2007–08 season with five appearances for the club,[7] after which he was offered a new contract.[8] Following an injury to Gareth Owen in March 2009, he was given an opportunity to affirm his place in the team, and hoped to earn a new contract at the end of the 2008–09 season.[9] He succeeded in this aim, penning a 12 month deal in June 2009.[10][11]
