Order of Christ

Four chivalric orders, are known as the Order of Christ:

• Order of Christ (Portugal) – former Knights Templar Order awarded initially by the kings of Portugal, now by the Portuguese state
• Order of Christ (Brazil) – a former branch of the Portuguese Order of Christ in the Empire of Brazil, now a defunct Brazilian order;
• Order of Christ (Kongo Empire) – instituted in the Kongo Empire by Álvaro I of the Kongo and his son Álvaro II of the Kongo^{[citation needed]}.
• Order of Christ (Papacy) – the Papal Order.
