Patrick Tam Kar Ming (Chinese: 譚家明; pinyin: Tán Jiāmíng; born March 25, 1948) is a Hong Kong film director. He directed the 1987 movie Final Victory, scripted by Wong Kar-wai.
He is also one of the best film editors in Hong Kong. He edited Wong Kar-wai's Days of Being Wild, contributing the very famous cameo appearance of Tony Leung Chiu-Wai in the last scene of movie, and Ashes of Time, as well as Johnnie To's Election.
He is widely regarded as the teacher of Wong Kar-wai by critics.[citation needed]
Tam is now associate professor of School of Creative Media, City University of Hong Kong.
