Pogromni Volcano

(Redirected from Pogromni)
Pogromni Volcano is a shield volcano on Unimak Island in the Aleutian Islands. Near it are 5 cinder cones, and a mountain called Pogromni's Sister.
Its name comes from Russian: Погромный = "characterised by violent outbreak", which here probably means volcanic eruption. (Compare Pogrom#Etymology). Pogromni is old and eroded, and historic eruptions attributed to it may have come from nearby Westdahl volcano.
