Sophie Prize

The Sophie Prize is an international environment and development prize (USD 100,000 = 68,474.39 as of February 15, 2008) and is awarded annually. It was established in 1997 by the Norwegian author Jostein Gaarder and his wife Siri Dannevig, and it is named after Gaarder's novel Sophie's World.
