Suppose that (S,μ^S,η^S) and (T,μ^T,η^T) are two monads on a category C.

The above is obviously not an appropriate way for a Wikipedia article to begin. It doesn't tell the lay reader that mathematics (rather than chemistry, theology, video games, etc.) is what this is about.

Also, I think it would be nice to change to , but I can't do that in the graphics embodying the commutative diagrams. Michael Hardy 00:29, 10 November 2006 (UTC)
