[edit] SEC website concerns
This artical is still too close to the wording of the SEC website. It really needs to be rewritten.
[edit] Rename?
This article should be switched to "Pink Sheets", with a capital 'S'.
[edit] More SEC website concerns
The whole Article is taken from the SEC website. Copyright!!!!!!! I'm gonna rewrite it! Done!

- Isn't the SEC government thus in public domain anyway? Tvh2k 17:59, 10 July 2007 (UTC)
[edit] What SEC wants?
I liked mentioning that the SEC doesn't want pink sheets stocks to trade at multiples.
You and I know that someone can option some lakefront property for a price that represents a multiple of the option, and theoretically, this would be the logic behind arguing speculation is warranted on the pinks, as well as the larger boards. But business typically is nowhere near leverage of this scale, much to the dismay of entrepreneurs worldwide.
What the SEC expressly opposes is promotion, but we know what they mean...
[edit] Pink Sheets - Pink OTC Markets merge
A merge seems like a good idea. However, the Pink Sheets article should really be merged into the Pink OTC Markets article. Since the company has changed its name from Pink Sheets LLC, the term Pink Sheets now only refers to one of the four markets tiers into which OTC securities are classified by Pink OTC Markets. Much of the information in the Pink Sheets article is applicable to the company itself and all or one of the four market tiers, not the Pink Sheets tier in particular.Eliza16t (talk) 18:00, 14 July 2008 (UTC)
- I've changed my mind a bit. Now I think it makes sense to have separate articles about the quotation system, the "Pink Sheets", and the company that operates it, "Pink OTC Markets". I've pruned the pink sheets article a bit to make this more clear. Both could still use some improvement though. I'm not sure where the other 3 tiers fit in at this point. -- Austin Murphy (talk) 21:34, 15 July 2008 (UTC)
The recent name changes are somewhat confusing, but I think it's important to clarify the distinctions. The electronic quotation system that was previously termed the "Pink Sheets" is now called "Pink Quote," although the change is recent and the old name is still commonly used to refer to the system. The "Pink Quote" system includes quotes for all four market tiers (OTCQX, OTCBB, Pink Sheets, and Grey Market), while "Pink Sheets" now refers to one of those tiers. Securities that do not meet the requirements for OTCQX are further categorized into disclosure categories (current information, limited information, no information, and caveat emptor). It's probably useful to keep the article title as Pink Sheets but mention the name change, or rename the article Pink Quote and direct users there from Pink Sheets.
