Tarlac City is a 1st class city in the province of Tarlac, Philippines. It is the capital city of Tarlac Province and its capitol is located at the back of the 500 peso bill. According to the latest census, it has a population of 314,155 people in 51,703 households.

The city has been proclaimed as one of the recently declared Highly-Urbanized cities in the Philippines under the power of President Gloria Macapagal Arroyo but the decision was opposed by the provincial government.

The city is situated at the center of the province. To its north is Gerona, west is San Jose, south is Capas and Concepcion and eastern boundaries are Victoria and La Paz.

Tarlac City is the typical bus stop for commuters plying the Ilocos Region and Cordillera provinces. Philippine Rabbit is the only bus company that serves the city. But there are other companies that passed by through the city including Victory Liner, Five Star, Partas, Farinas, Genesis, GV Florida, etc.
