Template:Editsemiprotected
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
| It is requested that an edit be made to this semi-protected article (see protection log).
This template may only be used when followed by a specific description of the request, that is, specific text that should be removed and a verbatim copy of the text that should replace it. "Please change X" is not acceptable and will be rejected; the request must be of the form "please change X to Y". The edit may be made by any autoconfirmed user. Replace the {{editsemiprotected}} template with {{tlc|editsemiprotected}} when the request has been accepted or rejected. You may also wish to use the {{ESp}} template in the response. |

Usage
Place {{editsemiprotected}} on a talk page to request an edit of the corresponding article page. It should be accompanied by a clear and specific description of the requested change. Providing the new sentences or code in your request, that may be copied directly into the page, will expedite the process.
Recommended action upon resolution
Once a request is handled, it's best to leave the {{editsemiprotected}} tag as an un-transcluded tag by changing it to, for example, {{tld|editsemiprotected}}. This removes the message box from the talk page and removes the talk page from the category, while still leaving a record of the request.
The Template {{ESp}} is also useful. In particular, {{ESp|?}} is very commonly needed, to respond to insufficiently specific requests.
