I recently wrote {{talkarchivehist}}, which adds useful historical links to the widely-used {{talkarchive}}. I will substitute the new template onto existing cut-and-paste archives by request. To reduce the appearance of archive refactoring, I prefer that the archive is recent (within 7 days) and that the request comes from the archiving editor. The new template does not work with incremental archives. If you are interested, please leave a note on my Talk page.
