[edit] Yangguan
Hi, could you check Yangguan, especially the etymology which is found on some travel websites? Badagnani (talk) 09:25, 16 January 2009 (UTC)
[edit] Need Chinese name
Hi, can you help me find the Chinese name (or at least transliteration) for piñata? Supposedly this Mexican tradition of children hitting a candy-filled papier-mache animal was noted by Marco Polo in China. But every website I found in Chinese spelled piñata in roman letters. Thanks very much, Badagnani (talk) 17:36, 25 January 2009 (UTC)
[edit] Beijing Subway Map
Hi Ran, Thank you for your kind response and updating the Beijing map. As soon as you uploaded it, I printed one out and taped it on the wall of my home. It just gives me something to look forward to in the coming few years.
I’ve been looking through a lot of future Beijing Subway maps and a lot of them are different (and it is quite interesting to see the changes taking place on the routes and stations over the years). You are definitely right in saying that no plan is concrete before its official announcement, and there could be changes even after then. Have you heard about the site www.beijingology.com? It was mentioned in the video that was posted in the web version of the Wall Street Journal, and I was wondering how authentic it was when it came to the future plans for the Beijing Subway (http://news.xinhuanet.com/world/2009-01/08/content_10624763.htm).
I’m sure you’ve heard it already by now, but this year, Beijing is going to start building the remaining lines that are planned to open before 2015 (http://finance.qq.com/a/20090113/000310.htm).
There seems to be talks of extending Line 14 further west (http://bjyouth.ynet.com/article.jsp?oid=47585145).
As always, I will be very much looking forward to your new map. I know Fangshan, Changping, and Xijiao lines are going to expand out to the west, not to mention the possible westward extension of Line 14. I am looking forward to see what you do with the new map with these 3 lines, and Line 15. Thanks again for your great contribution!Dsst40 (talk) 02:38, 2 February 2009 (UTC)
[edit] Image:England administrative divisions since 1995.svg
Thanks ran for pointing this out - I have created it some time ago and have not thoroughly validated it recently - I'll make sure it is up to date and correct. mfx Q&A 21:24, 29 March 2009 (UTC)
There are 201 non-metropolitan districts, not 202, could you update the image? Dracos (talk) 10:45, 9 April 2009 (UTC)
[edit] Black sesame soup
Hello, can you please tell if the second syllable of 芝麻糊 (Black sesame soup) should be second or fifth tone? Badagnani (talk) 20:05, 26 April 2009 (UTC)
Thanks, I suppose the PRC pronunciation would be a good standard to start with; I know that the second tone of 芝麻 turns to fifth tone, but when placing 糊 at the end, would the 麻 usually stay at fifth tone? Badagnani (talk) 20:24, 26 April 2009 (UTC)
Great, thanks. So it functions like 子, then. Please take a look at the new article Liangfen and see if you could add anything. Badagnani (talk) 20:29, 26 April 2009 (UTC)
[edit] Wikipedia:Meetup/NYC
Hi Ran, it was great to meet you, and good luck in SF! I hope we'll have good things ready to go when you come back to the city. In the meantime, I've sent something on e-mail, that you might be able to help with in the interim. Thanks!--Pharos (talk) 13:29, 20 May 2009 (UTC)

[edit] Jiuniang
Hi, can you tell me the tones for jiuniang (酒酿)? I think this dish needs an article--though we already have one for the Vietnamese version, com ruou. Badagnani (talk) 15:43, 21 June 2009 (UTC)
Can you check this article, Jiuniang? I don't know if "laozao" is more commonly used than "jiuniang" to refer to this dessert. Can you also see the zh:WP article and see if you could add anything? Badagnani (talk) 18:40, 21 June 2009 (UTC)
