Vladimir Pribylovsky
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Vladimir Valerianovich Pribylovsky (Russian: Владимир Валерианович Прибыловский, b. 6 March1956, Moscow, Soviet Union) is a Russian historian, journalist and human rights advocate opposed to current Russian authorities.
He graduated from the Department of Medieval History of Moscow State University in 1981 specializing in Byzantine studies. In 1980s he was persecuted by Soviet authorities for spreading banned literature. Since 1993 he is the president of the Panorama Information and Research Center think tank. Since November 2005 he has also operated the Anticompromat.ru web site (in Russian), which is essentially a collection of biographies of Russian politicians written mostly by him (not to be confused with the yellow Compromat.ru by Sergey Gorshkov). On 28 March 2007, Anticompromat.ru was closed.[1] However, on 31 March, the website moved to a Californian hosting and became available at Anticompromat.org. On 1 April its mirror was reopened at the original URL.
Vladimir Pribylovsky has co-authored chapters of The Operation Successor book about Vladimir Putin's coming to power (in Russian) with Yury Felshtinsky. Its newer version was published as The Age of Assassins.[2] [3] [4]
